LINKED hits the TOP 100 in Fantasy Series on Amazon -- So a CONTEST
It's been a long time coming! Linked hit the Top 100 list on Amazon at 3am. Now, you may be asking why this excites me. It doesn't mean I've sold 2000 books today or anything. It just means that enough people are reading it that it's finally making a place for itself on the lists.
Can I have a moment of ecstatic excitement and squeal? I'm #60. Hey, it's a Top 100 Best Seller in that category--so does that mean I'm a bestselling author now? (LOL)
Well, in any case. I'm happy. When I'm happy--I want to make you happy.
So...
A CONTEST of course. There are a few things you have to do, though. See options below
I just uploaded a new version of The Storm Within, because I wanted to add a second story to it. So, now, it has two romantic suspense stories in it.
Linked, The Storm Within & Table For Two are on sale for 99 cents this weekend as well.
Help me celebrate!
Oh, and if you have Amazon Prime, you can borrow LINKED and keep it as long as you like.
The Storm Within & Table For Two have a new cover. If you don't see the new cover, don't download it--it won't have the free 2nd story in it. Here's the cover.

Lana is awoken from a dream with a warning to "RUN!" She wakes to noise and realizes it's an intruder. She climbs out her bedroom window and runs for the convenience store across the street for help.

Ah Daylight Longer -- And on Writing and Reading
Some people get really irritable in the winter. How do I know this, you may ask. I know it because I'm one of them.
In the winter, it's always harder for me to stay chipper and bright. It's not even because it's colder in winter, as I live in Florida. I called this winter the Winter That Wasn't. We had very, very little cold this winter. (Thank you, God)
Still--with shorter days--I'm grumpy. I think they call it seasonal affective disorder. See, I'm not nuts, it has a name.
Oh wait--the fact that it has a name might make me nuts? Nah, it doesn't. :)
During the winter, I tend to do less writing and more reading. Which seems kind of backwards to me, but there it is. In winter I want to escape and not think, so I read a lot more.
I've read some really good books lately--most of them are reviewed on my review blog: Books To Love Reviews. I enjoy doing book reviews, I must admit.
That brings me back to writing. To be a writer, you must be a reader. I'm sure I've said it before, but it's true. I try to read in whatever genre I'm currently writing in--and I love to read new authors I've never read before. Lately, I've been on a wild YA craze. I'm addicted--and believe me, I'm not a young adult--not even close. Still, I really enjoy YA novels. I love authors like PC Cast, Imogen Rose, Amanda Hocking and Gena Showalter. But there are some newbie indie authors I've enjoyed, too (other than Imogen and Amanda)
I have a queue full of books--and half of them are YA. I recently joined NetGalley, and I seem to be getting approved for Harlequin and Kensington the most. So, look for more reviews of those authors.
I'm also the member of several facebook groups having to do with writing and have offered to read books for some of the other indie author.

Interview with me on The Kindle Romance Author Site
Hello
I did an interview today on Kindle Romance Authors. It was fun to answer questions about my work.
Wow, did I pick a bad day to sleep in, hmm?
In honor of the interview, I'm having just a little contest to run with the interview. Answer the following questions to be entered in a contest to win a $20.00 gift card for Amazon - open til 3/30. Winner will be drawn 4/1. Be sure to check back to see if you won. The winner of the $20 gift card must have the maximum points. This grand prize winner will also win copies of all three of my titles. This winner will have the choice of a PRINT copy of LINKED or an e-book copy. (Print title to arrive by end of April)
But there is more to win...just in case you miss one or two...
All correct answers will be entered by number to random.org and one winner will win a signed e-book version of LINKED and my other two titles, Forbidden & Once Bitten, and The Storm Within.
There is a new technology out there that lets authors sign their books and personalize them. I will be happy to do that if you'd like a signed book.
A second winner will receive TWO signed e-books of mine of their choice.
A third winner will receive any ONE signed copy of my titles, their choice.
Ready? Ok, here we go.
1. What book did I promote on the site?
2. What paranormal abilities did I want?
3. Who is my ideal reader? (The one that will like my work)
4. Who has been my biggest supporter?
5. Who did the cover for LINKED?
Now, for 3 extra points,be sure to follow my blog, follow me on Twitter, and 'like' my Facebook page. Links to all are on the side.
Bonus Question for 5 extra entries...
In my book LINKED, there is one character that is not active much in the story--but is absolutely paramount in solving the ancient prophecy. Who is she?
So, it's possible to get 13 points in this contest. All entries with correct answers will be entered. Number of points each earns will correspond with the number of correct answers.
If you've read my books, please be kind and leave a review on Amazon. Pass along books that you enjoy by letting readers know what you liked.
Thanks to KINDLE ROMANCE AUTHORS for having me
BONUS: You have to have read this far to know this: Tweet me with the phrase "@hopewelsh I want to win free books hopewelsh.blogspot.com" You can earn 5 extra points!

Pay It Forward -- The Romance Reviews
Hello Readers!
I'm an avid believer of the "Pay It Forward" philosophy. If you saw the movie, Haley Joel plays a boy that has to do a project in school. He chooses to pay forward nice things done.
To 'pay it forward' when someone does something nice for you--you in turn do something nice for someone ELSE. Not just the original person that was nice.
When I sent my book to The Romance Reviews to be reviewed, I actually had two of their reviewers choose to review my book, Linked. I got 4/5 stars. Now, if you're not familiar with this review site, let me just say--they are awesome.
Not only are they wonderful with their reviews, but they are also great to their authors. I can't recommend the site enough if you're an author or a reader. The reviews are unbiased and honest.
Next month, they will be one year old
For their anniversary, they are doing a huge give-away. I'm sending 5 of my books for it--and hundreds of other prizes will be available, too. Don't miss out on the party! Be sure to check out their contest page while you're there. I'm giving away books there, too.

What Do You Think?
Hello All
In honor of Valentine's Day--a bit late--LINKED is on sale on Amazon for 99 cents. For the next little while, it's only available on Amazon. It's free to borrow if you're an Amazon Prime Member.
You can enter the contest in the post below if you'd read it. Who can't use $20 worth of books?
I've spent the last few days doing a lot of reading. I think I read 5 books over the weekend. I'll be putting up reviews to them all on Books2LoveReviews in the next few days.
I admit, I'm a voracious reader! I read daily.
Now, I have a question. If you read an author review--do you want to hear about writing, the current book, or would you prefer to have an interview with a character from the book being discussed? Answer that little question for a chance to win any of my titles in e-book format. Open until the end of February--11:59PM 2/29 EST. All posters who answer will be entered in Random.org. Winner will need to check back here on 3/1 or there about, so I can get your contact information to send your book.
I've been asked to do a character interview, and I'm interested in what readers and other authors think of the idea.

Been Away a While
Hi Friends
I've been away a while now. I'm back! I've discovered over the last several months that being on the internet, writing my blogs, writing my books, and interacting with readers and authors makes me HAPPY!
So, what's the point of letting illness take over your life? Simple--there is no point. With that in mind, I've decided to put my health on the back burner and enjoy LIFE--and the things I enjo9y in life.
I love to write. I have a million ideas floating in my mind. So, how can I hope to sell my books if I'm not out there promoting them--and writing the next one? Simple answer again--I can't.
Check back, guys. I'm hoping to have my next book out within the next month or so. I also have a YA I'm working on that I was very excited about before I got sick.
One of the benefits of getting sick is that it gives me lots of time to do the things I enjoy like reading and writing!
In honor of my new revelations, I'm holding a contest. If you've read this far, reply to this blog and tell me why you enjoy reading romance :) I'll put all the names in a hat and two winners will receive a copy of LINKED. You can see the reviews on Goodreads or Amazon to get an idea what the story is about.
Who doesn't like a contest, right?

Any Donation to Protect.org and get a Free Book
Hello
As many of you, I'm addicted to Twitter. I follow a few actors. One, Alison Arngrim in particular, is part of Protect which is a site all about protecting children.
There are dozens of worth causes out there. Hundreds actually.
This is the one I'm going to support today on this blog.
Anyone who makes any monetary donation to Protect.org can email me via my blog for a free copy of any book I've got up on Amazon. You can see those titles at My Amazon Page
I read a post today that pedophilia wasn't someone's business and was just floored. It's the business of EVERY adult in American and Abroad. WHO will be their voice if we are not?
How can a responsible adult say it's not their business or concern? Children need a voice. Protect.org is offering to be that VOICE. Let it be a louder voice with your support.
As a society, we tend to bury our heads in the sand sometimes. Some things are never okay--abuse and neglect of a child is one of them. None of us should ever say it's "none of my business"--because it damn well should be.

As a society, we tend to bury our heads in the sand sometimes. Some things are never okay--abuse and neglect of a child is one of them. None of us should ever say it's "none of my business"--because it damn well should be.
